Volunteers

Volunteers are a vital part of the Tauranga SPCA. Without the dedication and commitment from our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to carry out the work we do.

The nature of volunteer work at the Tauranga SPCA is that it requires a compassionate nature with a willingness to give with minimal personal reward other than knowing that you are helping creatures that can’t help themselves.

The following is a brief description of the work our volunteer teams carry out:

Cat Care

Under the supervision of a team leader the tasks include feeding the cats and cleaning the cat areas. This can mean washing dishes, hanging out washing, grooming cats etc.

Dog Care

Under the supervision of a team leader the tasks are mostly feeding the dogs and cleaning the dog kennels. This can mean washing dishes, hanging out washing, grooming dogs etc.

Trade Skills

We are always in need of volunteers with qualifications in the following trades: Electrical; Building; Plumbing; and Painting.

Dog Squad

Members of the Dog Squad with their friendly dogs collect money and raise the profile of the SPCA.

Fundraising

Volunteer fundraiser’s belong to a group of people that help with various fundraising activities. Activities include the Annual Appeal Street Collection.
