There are many ways that non-profit organisations help abandoned and neglected animals. Some of the ways that they do it are as follows.
Organising for Adoption
Most not-for-profit organisations do not have the capacity to host and hold many animals at the same time. They therefore have many animals up for adoption. They simply rescue them and then put them up for adoption. There are some that give the animals free for adoption after vetting that the person who has the interest to adopt is worthy. Others will charge a maintenance fee to people who want to adopt, and the money goes in the services they give to the animals.
Providing Shelter/Food
This can be a permanent or temporary shelter. The organisations normally have an area where the animals are placed to remove them from the harsh weather and the circumstances they were previously being kept in. While at the shelter, the animals get food and other basic needs to keep them alive and healthy.
Medical Care
Animals, especially those that have been abandoned or neglected, always have medical conditions that need care. The not-for-profit organisations always work with veterinarians and other medical professionals to help in taking care of the animals. They can also give the animals some grooming like trimming their paws or cleaning them.
Organising for Fundraisings
There are some non-profit organisations that will team up with other like-minded organisations and have a fundraising drive. This is meant to raise money and even awareness of some of the activities that these organisations are doing. It can also be a drive to get more people to volunteer and get involved in activities that are meant to benefit animals. They even reach out to donors to ask them to dedicate time and money to support the well being of animals.
